Abby’s Got Talent is today at lunch in the Abbey Arts Centre.  Admission is $1.00.

Sr. Girls soccer players – you’re bus for Langley leaves at 2:15pm.  You are dismissed from class at 2:00 pm with your teacher’s permission.

Multi-Culture Club is celebrating Korea next week.~ Join us Monday at lunch in room C211 for a look at Korean Culture.~ Anyone is welcome to join!

Grads - Listen carefully.  Mrs. Mackenzie is now accepting nomination for this year's Grad Speaker.  The Grad Speaker will address the graduating class at convocation.  Your Grad Speaker must be on the Grad list therefore meeting all grad requirements including Grad Transitions, a respected member of the grad class, have demonstrated a strong school spirit, be involved in school activities and has made a positive contribution to this year's grad class.  If you know someone like this please nominate this person to be the Grad Speaker of the Class of 2011 by giving their name to Mrs. Mackenzie BEFORE Friday, April 29.

Any current Grade 9, 10 or 11 students who are interested in becoming a LINK leader for next year please plan to attend an informational meeting at lunch in the library on Friday, April 29.  For more information please see Ms Campbell.

Grads time is running out to complete your Grad Transitions Booklet and exit interview.  Please sign up for an exit interview with an administrator or a counsellor this week.

Any students wanting to take Peer Tutoring and/or Student Leadership next year.  You must have your application forms completed and returned to the counselling office by Friday, April 29.  Students who do not complete an application form cannot be enrolled in the course next year.  Please see your counsellor or Ms Campbell for an application form.

Attention all students - anyone interested in serving on the Abbotsford Youth Council please see Ms Campbell for more information immediately after these announcements.

Grade 12 students applying for UBC may now self report on line for an instant offer of admission.  See Mrs. Doan for help and your interim transcript.

An important reminder to all Grade 12 students applying to a post secondary that you must authorize electronic release of your transcript to the Ministry of Education.  The early submission deadline is April 30th.

Reminder to Jazz band and Drumline students to be in the music room tomorrow at 10:15am to get ready for the pep rally.

Girls Rugby players and the football team are reminded to turn in their hanging basket orders and money to their coaches by Thursday.

Grads – new photos have arrived.  Please stop by the office to pick up.

Senior girls soccer team members...you are reminded of your practice today from 3:00 to 4:00. ~All players must be on the field ready to train at 3:00.

Important football meeting at lunch in room C112.  Bring your order forms for hanging baskets.

Attention all Personal Project Students:  Please remember to meet with your project mentor this week for your second meeting.  Bring all of the things you've been working on so far to show your teacher.  Also, the following Personal Project Students still need to hand in their Yellow Contract to Mrs. Huff as soon as possible:  Bailey Davis-Elves, Gurpreet Dhaliwal, Harry Dhaliwal, Isha Farah, Ariana Frego, Merissa Grohmann, Milan Hayre, Kaitlin McMaster, and Navjot Toor.

A reminder to all students that report cards may be picked up by your parent or guardian until Friday, April 29 in the office.

The Girls’ rugby practice today begins immediately after school at 2:35pm.  The team finised league play with their 6th win on Thursday; 39 to 15.  Player of the match was centre Joyce Tran.  Minni Inthapanya playing fullback and Carrie Johnson play hool were given honourable mention.

There will be a BRIEF and IMPORTANT talent show meeting for ALL PERFORMERS WHO QUALIFIED in Mrs Janzen's room W123 at the start of lunch TODAY!!  

Attention Grad Committee:  There will be a quick meeting for you as well in Mrs Janzen's room at 11:15 sharp (right after the talent show meeting)!!

Aboriginal students...there is a family gathering tomorrow evening at the Aboriginal Education Centre.  Bring your friends and family to celebrate the first salmon ceremony! Dinner starts at 6:00pm and is free of charge.  For more information see Lindsay in room N113.

Today is the last day for ABBY’S GOT TALENT auditions – if you want a shot at the big show, be at the Stage in the Pit (old gym) right at the start of lunch.

Grad clothing is on sale this week at lunch in the front foyer!! Thursday is the LAST DAY and this is the last time we will be ordering grad clothing! Don't miss out!

Grad Fashion tonight at 7:00 in the Pit. Ticket on sale in the office.  $5.00 each or $8.00 at the door.


Multi-Culture Club meets Mondays at lunch in room C211.~ Anyone is welcome to join us this week for a special Easter surprise!

Grad clothing is on sale this week at lunch in the front foyer!! Thursday is the LAST DAY and this is the last time we will be ordering grad clothing! Don't miss out!

There will be a mandatory 30 Hour Famine meeting today in the library at lunch.

Attention Music Students – Sorry for the mistake, the Nights of Music concert is tonight in the Abbey Arts Theatre, please be in the music room no later than 6:00 pm.  Everyone is welcome, admission is $2.00

Notice to all of you coming to the grad fashion show Thursday night. Come early to avoid parking nightmare - there is an event at the Abby Arts.  Tickets on sale at lunch today - Gursimran and Vicki will be selling tickets at lunch in the foyer.

The girls’ rugby team remains undeafeated with their 24 to 15 win against last year’s provincial champs and cross town rival, Bateman.  Amanda Labbe got the first try; Shelby, Kayla and Veronica also scored with 2 converts by Tiffany.  Joyce Tran and Jessica Sabourin were recognized for their contributions with Captain Lauren Arthur selected Player of the Match for her smart tough play and leadership.

Prom tickets will be sold at lunch today in the office for any student who has completed their Grad Transition.  Please see Kal in the office.

Grad Clothing on sale this week in the front foyer at lunch.  This is the last week, so please get your orders in.

Emergency Fashion Show meeting today at lunch in the Counseling Centre.

Senior girls soccer team members.  For your game vs. Robert Bateman today, you are dismissed at 2:00 and must be on the bus ready for a 2:15 departure.  If you have any problems, see Mr. Fetterly or Mrs. Morrison.

Panther Race Team Meeting today at 2:30 In Rm N103.  Urgent all members must attend.  

A reminder to Abby Leadership Executive:  Your weekly meeting will be at lunch in Mrs Janzen's room, W123.

Don't forget:  Abby's Got Talent auditions start today!!  If you signed up for an audition today, you are to meet at the start of lunch on the stage of The Pit gym!!

Important football meeting today at lunch in C112.  All players must attend.

Friday's Jazz band dance went WONDERFULLY!  Thank you for everyone who come out to support, or helped as volunteers.  The band played beautifully, the food was excellent, the hall looked elegant and the audience seemed to have a great time.  Congratulations on a job well done!

Grade 12 students going to UFV next year…..sign up in the Counselling Centre to speak with a UFV Education Advisor for a 15 minute session this Wednesday, April 13th during lunch or “C” block.

The Girls’ Rugby team went to 4 wins, no losses in league play with a 27 to 10 win over a strong Lord Tweedsmuir side.  Our girls gave and got a physical pounding, but Abby’s teamwork and determination was the difference.  Three tries were scored by Natalie Teteris who was chosen Player of the Match, just as much for her solid tackling and inside crashes.  Kayla scored again but the crowd favourite, which set the cockles of Mr.Myers heart ON FIRE, was prop Taylor McLean, sprinting in support down the sidelines to score in the corner.  Captain Lauren Arthur, Veronica Flores, Jessica Sabourin and Cherie Struthers were all noted for outstanding play.  Next up, the team is at Bateman on Tuesday and Heritage Park  on Thursday.

Attention Staff and students.  Don’t forget about the Abby Collegiate Jazz Band Dessert/Dance fundraiser this Friday, April 8th in the Abby Arts Addition.  Doors open at 7:30pm.  Tickets on sale in the front foyer each day at noon.  $10.00 each.

Attention all Grads.  Tomorrow is the deadline for Grad Gown measurements.  Please see Mrs. Webster in N115 today.

There will be a very important Leadership Executive Meeting in Mrs. Janzen's room (W123) at lunch today!!  Attendance is mandatory.

Senior Girls Soccer team members.  Today's game vs. Yale is postponed due to field conditions.  Your next game is on Wednesday at 3:30 vs. Mouat at Babich Park.  Be at the field, ready to warm-up at 3:00 on Wednesday.  See Mr. Fetterly in S210 if you have any questions.

Grads!!!  Prom Tickets go on sale in 4 days!!!!  Do you have your Grad Transition Booklets completed?  Sign up for your exit interview with one of the administrators on the sign up sheet just outside the office.   So people like Joel, Amy, Josh, Brody, Ashton, Jacquie and still Amour - Hurry!
