HIB students - we will meet on Wednesday, Dec. 1 at 11:00 AM in W119.

Tickets are selling FAST for the dance this Thursday!  Come and see us in the front foyer at the start of lunch to get yours!!  Also, today is the day to request the music you want to hear at the dance!  We will be sending it off to the DJ this afternoon, so if there is a song you just HAVE to hear, get it on the list today!

Reminder to music students that poinsettias will be ready to pick up Wed, December 1st in the high school music room at the end of the day.

Playing Wednesday, December 1st in Movie Club: "The Polar Express."  Movie starts at 11:00 so bring your lunch, your friends and come enjoy a great movie!

Cross Country athletes are reminded of their banquet this evening at 5:00. Please don't be late!!

Reminder to music students - if you are coming on the trip to see the Maple Ridge Concert Band concert tonight, the bus leaves from the front doors of the high school at 5:15.  Don't be late.  The bus won't wait!  Also, please make sure you get all of your permission forms to Miss H by WEDNESDAY and your Neufeld Chicken orders to Miss H by Thursday.

The KeyClub is organizing a Wright for Rights Day. ~On December 10, International Human Rights Day, Amnesty supporters in Canada and around the world are going to write~hundreds of thousands of letters~that can save lives. ~We're all going to come down to the Cafeteria on this day, during Blocks C and D and wright our letters~to help prisoners of conscience, human rights defenders under threat, and vulnerable communities facing ongoing abuse of their human rights.~We'll be a part of the~world's~biggest letter-writing event! ~Everyone who participates will receive a free treat!

Cross Country students are asked to meet briefly with Mrs. Webster at lunch today in N115.

Attention to all football players, banquet tickets must be picked up from Coach Fujimura today.  

Hey Abby!!!  Our winter dance is fast approaching!!  It's next Thursday, December 2nd and the theme is: Dreaming of a White Christmas.  Tickets are $10 and will be on sale at lunch next week in the front foyer.  THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR.  Guest pass applications are available at the office NOW, and must be submitted by THIS Friday for approval.  No applications will be accepted after Friday.

A reminder to all leadership students and PE students who are planning to attend the ski trip in February.  Your Ski Trip forms and payment are due by Friday.   This trip is first come/first served as we have a limited number of spaces on the bus.

There is a very important meeting for ALL students coming on or wanting to come to Europe this spring break in Ms Janzen's Room at lunch.  Room W123.

There will also be a meeting for any leadership students interested in going on a ski trip to Whistler in Ms Janzen's room at lunch!

Photo Re-takes have arrived – Pick them up in the office at lunch time and after school only.

All students involved in the Remembrance Day Assemblies are asked to meet with Mrs. Webster TODAY at lunch.  This does not include concert band students.

Multi-Culture Club is Monday at lunch in room C211. ~This week we will have a delicious treat for all students who are participating, so make sure you come out for it!

The Senior Girls Volleyball Team played their season best Tuesday night in their games against Chilliwack and Bateman. The girls won their first game against Chilliwack - narrowly missed winning the second and was winning 8-2 in the 3rd narrowly missing 15 - 12 in the final.   Excellent hitting by Natalie Teteris who was a tiger at the net - Amelia Capell was solid hitting overheads from any position:  great passing from  our setters Amanda Wagner and Amber Brown: Middles Lauren Brown and Taryn Frego made some great heads up plays - as well as key blocks at the net.   Team spirit awards go out to everyone especially Joyce Tran and Ana Eason who never stopped supporting team play.  Congrats girls ... you did it!

Attention all classes who will be attending the Diwali Show today:  Please hold your classes until the end of these announcements.  At that time, teachers can bring their classes to the Abbey Arts through the INSIDE doors ONLY.  Students MUST have a ticket to enter the auditorium.  We need to fill the auditorium from the front first and it will be full, so ALL SEATS MUST BE USED!!!!  A reminder that there is no food or drink permitted in Abbey Arts.  Please leave all of your belongings in the locked classrooms.  TEACHERS ARE REQUIRED TO STAY WITH THEIR CLASSES FOR THE DURATION OF THE SHOW!!!  Happy diwali!!!

There will be short meeting for all peer tutors today at the beginning of block C, 1:10 PM.

It's been another week already! Come to Prayer group today at lunch in C212!

A reminder to ALL participants in the Diwali show:  dress rehearsal is TODAY during block D.  Please have attendance taken in you D block class and then head to the Abby Arts Centre.

The senior boys soccer team put in a solid defensive effort yesterday in defeating league rival Sardis 1-0 in Fraser Valley play.  The lone goal of the game was scored by Sahib Phagura. Jeromy Hoffman had the shutout in a strong game in net.  The boys now move onto the provincials qualifying game.  The boys will take on Enver Creek in Surrey on Thursday with the winner of the game going to the provincial high school soccer championships.

Playing today in Lunchtime Movie Club: "Remember the Titans" starring Denzel Washington.  Come one, come all to Room C218 today to watch "Remember the Titans."  Movie starts at 11:00 in Mrs. Huff's room and will be playing until Friday.

Would all students invited to the assembly of the "Grandmothers to Grandmothers" campaign by the Stephen Lewis Foundation make their way to the Abbey Arts Theatre now.  Please use the front doors.

This is an important reminder to all 120 of you Grade 9’s who have signed up to participate in the national “Take Our Kids to Work Day”.  Have a great day out of school.  Remember to take a picture of yourself in the workforce and e-mail it to Mr. Grell to have a chance to win an ipod or notebook.  Teachers you will receive an e-mail with participating student.

The Senior Boys Soccer Team continues their Fraser Valley Playoffs today at 3:00 at Babich Park vs. Sardis.  Come out and support the boys as they push to continue into the next round.
