The Canadian Universities Event is happening tonight at Meadowridge Secondary in Maple Ridge from 6:30 until 8:00 pm.  35 of Canada’s top schools will be represented.  Information available in the Counselling Centre.

There is a MANDATORY meeting for all junior girls’ volleyball players today at lunch regarding a busing change.  You must attend!

Grade 12 students – UFV BEGINS to accept applications for the September 2011 semester on October 1st.  Applications and help are available in the Counseling Centre.

Multi Cultural Club is back! Join us Mondays at lunch in room C211 – meet new people, enjoy free food, and get volunteer hours to graduate!

The Hair Design Program is look for models.  If you’re interested in being a model for a hair show, please come to the model call on Thursday, September 30th  or Friday, October 1st  at 2:45 in hair design classroom, Portable 1.

Today is the first weekly meeting of the Abby Prayer Group in room C212 at lunch. See you there!

Congratulations to all members of the cross country team who, at yesterday's first meet of the season, ran their hearts out.  Everyone put their best foot forward and represented Abby well.  Special congrats to Bukky O for her awesome finish!  Team members are reminded that there is practice today!

All members of the Run for the Cure team are reminded of the Run taking place this Sunday at Rotary Stadium.  Please be there by 9:30 for a team photo.  For those who paid the registration fee, your t-shirt and race packages will be ready tomorrow.  Please see Mrs. Webster.

Well done to the Senior Boys Soccer team for their 6-2 win over Walnut Grove.  Goals were scored by Trent Mayer, Grant Fadden, Manav Tamber, Kree Byrne, Kieran Yodogawa, and Simi Singh.  Solid D by Kam Tamber and great leadership by Sahib Phagura.  Special mention to Jeremy Hoffman for his first game in goal as a Panther.  Also, great effort by Trent Mayer for his hard work up front.  Well done Boys!!!

There will be a yearbook class at lunch and after school today to work on cover and theme. Those class members who are assigned to the task are required to attend.

Cross Country members are reminded to meet in the front foyer at 12:45 at the latest with all gear for the meet today!

The Junior Boys Soccer team begins their season today vs. Mission at Babich Park at 3:30.  Come out and enjoy the sun and watch the first Junior Soccer team at Abby in over 20 years.

A reminder to all interested Grade 11 and 12 students of the BC Post Secondary Institutions event tonight at W. J. Mouat from 7:00 – 9:00 pm.  There will be 3 – 40 minute sessions, starting with a mini fair.

Grade 12 students, if you’re interested in going to UFV next year, a Student Recruitment Rep will be here at Abby TODAY at lunch in the library. Drop by with your questions and pick up an application and admissions guide.  UFV starts accepting applications for next September on October 1st.

The KEY club meeting for today is CANCELLED.  KEY club will be meeting next week.

Grade 11 and 12 students.  WJ Mouat is hosting this years’ Post Secondary Night on Monday, September 27th at Mouat from 7:00pm – 9:00pm.  There is a mini-fair with all the schools until 7:45, then you can attend 2 presentations.  UBC, SFU, UVic, UFV,  BCIT,  Kwantlen and more will be represented.  Parents are welcome.

All Senior boys soccer team members.  Today's game vs Yale has been postponed and moved to Oct. 14th.  All players need to see Mr. Fetterly for an updated schedule.  The next game for the senior team will be on Tuesday, Sept. 28th at Walnut Grove.

Yearbook class will meet at lunch today in S217 - not after school as originally scheduled. All the students who want on work on cover and theme, please see Mr. Whitman, at lunch, in S217.

All students going on the Grouse Grind trip are asked to meet in the new gym right at the beginning of lunch.

All Senior Girls interested in playing Volleyball must attend a mandatory meeting in the new gym at 11 sharp for a short meeting.   Registration and providiing games schedules for the league will take place at this meeting - don't miss it if you want to play this year!!

If you left anything in gym lockers last June, please come by the office to claim.  Anything left after Friday will be donated to charity.

Windsurfers are reminded to get their forms filled and attend the mandatory meeting today at 1
1:00 sharp in the new gym.  Any students interested in windsurfing may also attend the meeting.

Attention music students - a reminder that the parent meeting is this Thursday at 7:00pm in the (high school) music room.  Be there, or be square!

All boys and girls, juniors and seniors planning on playing rugby this year must attend a brief meeting at lunch today in Mr. McLaughlin's room, N109. We are looking for returning players and new players as well, especially grade 9s!

Any students interested in joining Xcountry are invited to join us o the first practice today afterschool at 2:45.  Please meet in N115 ready to run.

Today is the final deadline for Semester 1 course changes.  Sign up for an appointment with Mrs. Doan in the Counselling Center.

Windsurfers are reminded to get their forms filled and attend the mandatory meeting at 11:00 sharp in the new gym.  Any students interested in windsurfing may also attend the meeting.

Attention musicians:  Reminder that Jazz Band, Senior Band and Drumline start this week.  If you are unsure of the schedule, check outside the music room door.

Grad Committee meeting Tuesday at lunch in C214.  All Grads welcome.

A reminder to students to hand in their demographic or student information sheets to their homeroom teachers asap.  Please make sure the information on the sheet is updated and correct.  Homeroom teachers please check the sheets for a parent email address.  All students who have returned their completed and updated sheets by next week will be eligible for a draw to win amazing prizes!!

If you are interested in playing rugby with the Abbotsford Youth Rugby Squad please pick up an information sheet in the office.

Any student interested  in going Windsurfing on September 17th, there will be a brief  meeting today at 11:00 sharp in the new gym.

Coaches are reminded of the brief lunchtime meeting today in N115.
