Attention all v-ball players, practice this today has been cancelled.

There is a mandatory LINK leader meeting on Tuesday, May 4.  All LINK leaders must attend and come prepared to run through your game for the May event.

All student interested in becoming a LINK leader next year please submit your applications to Ms Campbell  by the end of the day.  Don't delay, fill your application in today!!

All Grad fees, this includes Extravaganza and Prom must be paid today.  

The Pit Stop will be offering the following:
Mondays -  Samosas.   $1.00 each
Tuesdays - Smokies, $2.00 each
Thursdays - Smoothies with ice cream - $3.00
Fridays ñ California Rolls - $3.75 for a box.

Important reminder to grade 12 students that have applied to UBCÖyou may self report once you know your exact spring report card marks until May 5th and receive an instant admission offer.

Congratulations to the Girlsí Rugby team for their dominating and determined 34 to 12 win over Lord Tweedsmuir.  It was a total team effort with Kayla VanVeld, Junnaya Murphy and Natalie Teteris each scoring and Tiffany Picketts converting twice, as captain Maegan Pauls was Player of the Match.  The Panthers hose a Fraser Valley playoff game next Tuesday.  

All rubgy players going to Yale for the 7ís tournament today are asked to get changed immediately and report to the front of the school now!

Congratulations to the track and field team at the Abby/Mission Championships.  The team did very well with no athlete finishing lower than 6th place.  Notable mentions go to Brittany Larson who is the JR girlsí champion in both Long Jump and Triple Jump and with a jump of 9.44m put her second in the district at the senior level for triple jump. Tiffany Picketts who is the Abby/Mission JR champion for shotput is also not only the JR champion at discus but also the senior girls champion as well.  In the Jr. girls team division, with only 5 athletes, they placed 3rd in over all points.  Great job by all athletes and wish them well for the upper valley eliminations next week.

Grad photo packages are in the office.  Please come by and pick yourís up today.

There is a mandatory LINK leader meeting on Tuesday, May 4.  All LINK leaders must attend and come prepared to run through your game for the May event.

Jaemin Park, Anna Youn, Dallas Schmidt, Joel Hand, TJ Deol, Everett Johnson, Veronica Tourand, Collen Griffiths, Alicia Ciornei, Amanda Wagner, Mahrukh Khan, Jenny Ngiyen  and Jordan Johnson  as well as Michael Strelley, Chad Todd and Kevin Smart- please see Ms Campbel in the office immediately after these announcements.

A reminder of the information meeting for potential new LINK leaders in the Library at lunch tomorrow.  This meeting is for students who are currently in Grades 9, 10 and 11 and are considering applying to be a LINK leader for next year.   The meeting start at 11:10 and it should be quick.  Bring your questions.

All LINK Leader application forms for next year must be completed and returned to Ms Campbell by Friday, April 30.

The senior girls soccer team is reminded that their bus leaves at 1:30 today for their game in Chilliwack.  You are excused from class at 1:15 and need to get on the bus ASAP.

Tomorrow at lunch in Portable #3 the Abbotsford Collegiate Prayer Group will be hosting the last session of Quest.
There will be free Pizza, and Pop! Everyone is welcome to come out!

All students interested in becoming a LINK leader next year please plan to attend a short meeting at lunch in the library on Wednesday, April 28.  The meeting will start at 11:10.  So if you would like more information about the LINK program please come and bring your questions.  Application forms will be available at the meeting.

The Abbotsford Collegiate Prayer Group will be hosting the last week of Quest this Thursday at lunch in Portable #3.  Quest is designed to get young students talking about spiritual matters and there will be free pop and pizza there!~ Everyone is welcome to come on out!

Panther Race Team had a great day Friday at Mission Race Way.  Thanks to Ashton Dodson, Abby Drag Team took the trophy after coming first in the day's competition.  This was the first time Ashton had raced at Mission Race Way and we congratulate him on his outstanding performance.

Very important track meeting today at lunch.  Abby Mission championships are on Wednesday and all participants must see Coach Fujimura for details.
Also there is a track practice after school today for all athletes rain or shine.  Junaya, Britinay, Tiffany, and Elena get out there early to practice handoffs.

Attention Senior Band and Drumline students ñ there is  NO rehearsal today or tomorrow.  We start up again 7:am sharp on Wednesday.

Congratulations to all the students who came on the Festival Nelson music tour.  All students should be very proud of how well they performed.  Congratulations to Josh Weststeijn who won a Bursary towards a summer music camp while on tour.

Any students in need of volunteer hours please see Mr. Fujimura @ lunch in room N117 to help with a track meet on Wednesday April 28th.

Attention all Grade 9 students and LINK leaders - PAJAMAPALOOZA II that was scheduled for tonight at 7:00 HAS BEEN CANCELLED!!    Unfortunately not enough Grade 9 students signed up for the free movie night.  Ms Campbell and Mrs Mackenzie are deeply saddened.

LINK leaders - you must sign up for your Minute to Win It game by then end of the day.  The sign up sheets are just outside Ms Campbell's office.  
The next LINK leader meeting will be at lunch on May 4.  Be prepared to run through your game with the other LINK leaders.  Attendance is mandatory.

Attention all Grade 10 and 11 students - LINK Leader applications for next year are available from Ms Campbell.  Please complete them and return them by Friday, April 30.  There will be in information meeting on Wednesday, Apri 28 in the library at lunch if you would like more information or have any questions.  Remember LINK leader hours may be used towards the 120 volunteer hours you need to document for graduation.

Come out and see the IB and Grade 12 Art Show this week in the Multi-purpose room.  Check out the creative and imaginative sculptures, drawings and paintings by Abbyís talented senior students.  Show opens from 8:15 ñ 11:45 today and from 8:15- 3:00 pm on Thursday.

Due to the Pro-D Day this Friday, week 6 of Quest is today at lunch in Portable #3.~ Everyone is welcome to come out!

Our junior boys rugby team destroyed Yale's B team on Monday afternoon.  Tries were scored by Levi Trafton, James Pauls, Carter Williams, Jesse Neufeld, Dan Squires, Jayden Edmundsen, Joe Klassen, Tanner Storoshenko, and Curtis Todd in his first and only performance on the wing.  Player of the game goes to Jayden Edmundsen for his great work on the wing, straightening up the attack when needed and contributing well on defence.  Come out to the oval at 3:30 today for what promises to be a highly entertaining game against Robert Bateman.

The girlsí rugby team rolled to a 38 ñ 5 victory over Queen Elizabeth yesterday.  Player of the match, Diana Bonilla, was a force to be reckoned with both on defense and attack.  Centre Natalie Teteris had 3 tries and scrum half Junnaya Murhpy touched down twice.  Tiffany Picketts converted 4 times.  Teamwork, toughness and wanting it more led to the Panther win.

Entry forms for the Art of Change contest are now available in room N111.  Pick up an entry form and enter your 2D art project for a chance to win a $75 gift card.  Deadline is April 30th

The Junior Boys played a phenomenal game against Yale, losing 22-14. The boys showed incredible heart with strong defense, aggressive running, and great spirit. Tries were scored by Dan Squires and Dallas Yassinsky, while Dillon McGuire kicked two converts. All players played incredibly well, and Jeremy Pauls earns player of the game for his strong defense and great ball distribution.

Yesterday afternoon the Panther Girlsí soccer team had a tough loss against Lord Tweedsmuir.  All the girls worked very hard and put out consistent effort.  Jaime Foster had a great game and scored an amazing goal.  Unfortunately the end score was 3 ñ 1.  Great effort ladies.

All outstanding Panther Race Team member fees must be paid by Friday.

Thank-you to the 250 students who came out yesterday to watch the talent show.  The winners of Abby's Got Talent have been decided.  After much deliberation after the show, the judges were able to make the tough decisions for first, second, and third place.  Congratulations to all the performers.  The level of the talent this year was incredible. The performers that finished from 4th to 7th will each receive $25.
In third Place and $50:  Rachel Patterson with her vocal and guitar performance.
In Second Place and $50 Tawny Spenst with her vocal performance.
And in First place and the winners of $100.  Tia and Cassandra with their Mario and Luigi Tap Performance.
You may pick up your prize cheque next week in the office.

All track and field athletes.  Registration packages are due ASAP! If you are attending the track meet tomorrow there is an important meeting in room N117 at lunch today.

Junior boys rugby are dismissed at the end of C block today for their game against Sardis.  Come watch the Senior Boys play Bateman at 4:00 on the oval.  A reminder that all players need to get their money in to Mr. Webster to receive their t-shirts. Shorts are also available for $25.  See Mr. Webster at lunch today, NOT after school.

Attention all LINK leaders - If you missed the lunch meeting yesterday please come see Ms Campbell for the info and to vote for our year end activity.  Come see her today!!   A reminder to all LINK leaders in Thursday Grade 9 homerooms that tomorrow you will be visiting your homeroom.  Be prepared to run your activities and have all your supplies collected!  Any questions or concerns please see Ms Campbell.

Reminder to PE students.  Check the schedule posted for PE make up classes.

Attention all Music students ñ There is a meeting for anyone going on tour Friday at lunch in the music room.  Be there by 11:00 am sharp!

Reminder to Drumline members.  There is a brief rehearsal at lunch today.  Please be ready to go by 11:40am.

Attention Sr. Choir ñ reminder that there is a short rehearsal today after school.  We will be done by 3:30 if we can start on time.

Abby's Got Talent takes place on Thursday at lunch in the Abby Arts Centre.  We have drummers, singers, dancers, a band, and even Martial Arts.  The cost is $1.00 at the door.  It all begins at 11:00 on Thursday.

Food Safe Level One will be taught April 10 and Aril 17 during Saturday School, 9:00  - 12:00.  All funds are due no later than Friday, April 9th to confirm your spot.  Please see Mrs. Triebwasser.

There is an important KEY club meeting on Friday of this week in room C216.   Our Thursday meeting has been cancelled because of the talent show.

Key Clubís ìArt for Changeî contest is happening this April.  Enter any creative 2D project for the chance to win a great prize.

If you're interested in a CTC program or want more information, come to the Open House at the Abbey Arts Addition Thursday night 630pm until 800pm. This is your chance to hear valuable info, ask questions, and meet course instructors. Bring your parents!

Attention all LINK leaders!  There will be a mandatory lunch meeting for all LINK Leaders on TODAY in the library.  Bring the name of your Minute to Win It game and any questions about our April homeroom activities.  LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED!

Could I have a Race Team meeting right after school in room E101?  All Race Team members must attend.

The following people must be in Mr. Fetterlyís room today at lunch.  If you do not attend, you will lose your spot in the ìAbbyís Got Talentî show:

Food Safe Level One will be taught April 10 and Aril 17 during Saturday School, 9:00  - 12:00.  All funds are due no later than Friday, April 9th to confirm your spot.  Please see Mrs. Triebwasser.

Are you tired of sitting in a classroom pushing a pencil over a page to get your High School Graduation Credits? Would you rather get your credits while you are learning to operate a Bulldozer or an Excavator?  If you are in grade 11 you can get your Grad credits next year by taking the Heavy Equipment Operators Training Course in the second semester. Applications for the Program are available now and selection will take place by the end of May. If you need more information or would like to apply, see Mr. Burns today.

The Senior Girlsí extended their league record to 2 wins last Thursday, with a convincing 64 ñ 0 victory, overpowering Kwantlen Park.  The entire team played well together with improved support and communication.  Scoring for Abbotsford were #8 Tiffany Picketts with 4 tries, outside centre Natalie Teteris, name Player of the Match for her 3 tries, as well as excellent tackling and support.  Lauren Arthur and Junnaya Murphy added 2 tries each, Diana Bonilla crossed the line and Shelby Pihl added to converts to the score.  The team is reminded of their practise TODAY right after dismissal.

Abbotsford Collegiate Prayer Group will be hosting this week's Quest series, today at lunch in Portable #3.

Our junior boys rugby team played well, beating the Rick Hansen Hurricanes 19-12.  Tries were scored by Joe Klassen, Dillon McGuire, and Andreas Tan.  Dillon kicked over two converts.  A huge defensive effort by everyone at the end of the game preserved our win.  Player of the Game goes to Dan Squires for an incredible work rate including many strong carries and some excellent ruck work.

Reminder about the meeting today at lunch in Mr. Fetterlyís room (S210) for Abbyís got Talent finalist, organizers and hosts.  Performers must be there with their music if they want to be in the show.
