The Sr. Boys’ Basketball team won their first league game yesterday beating Sardis 73-42.  Congratulations boys.

Grad Clothing will be on sale in the front foyer at lunch this week.

Hey people – bring your lunch and 50 cents to the library today at lunch time.  It’s the Battle of the Bats.  Principal versus Police Officer.  Mr. McDonald goes head to head with Carrie, our school liaison officer, duking it out for the Resource room in a Wii baseball game.

Cookies and Cocoa have arrived!!  Today is the day.  Grade 9 students gather your cookie decorating supplies and remain in your Block B class until your LINK Leader comes to pick you up.
LINK leaders please report to the cafeteria immediately after these announcements to help set up.

Attention all Grade 9 students - Are you struggling with Homework at home alone with no one to help you?  Do you need a study buddy to review for an upcoming test?  Is that Math questions keeping you awake at night?  Help has arrived!!  The LINK leaders will be offering Academic Assistance for Grade 9 students starting in January on Mondays and Wednesdays after school from 2:40 - 3:30 in C118.  So bring your homework and your questions and prepared to be assisted by the awesome and amazing Abby Collegiate LINK Leaders.

All you Wii fans out there, come to the library at lunch this Wednesday and cheer as Cst. Durocher takes down Mr. McDonald, or maybe not, in a baseball Wii competition.  You may bring your lunch to the library.  Admission is 50 cents with all proceeds going to the Resource Room.

Mrs. Varnes and Ms. MJ would like to thank the French students who attended last night's dinner at Le Bistro Chez Michel in North Vancouver for being wonderful ambassadors of Abbotsford Collegiate.  Both the restaurant staff and bus driver commented on your outstanding manners and behaviour.  Congratulations on a job well done!

A reminder to all LINK Leaders - you will be visiting your Grade 9 crews in Block B today right after these announcements.  If you have any questions please come see Ms Campbell now!

HEY ABBY!!  Come on down to the cafeteria for a Christmas-style Project Runway Abby!  Five teams will be designing Christmas Wrap Couture complete with accesories!  The designs will be judged and the winning team will walk away with a Lifesaver book, movie gift certificates and a chance at the grand prize draw.  Come on down and  see the show!!

Don't forget:  tomorrow is TACKY TUESDAY!!  Wear all your best tacky Christmas Gear and get a treat and chance at the GRAND PRIZE DRAW!!  Winner will be announced Friday.  ALSO, pictures with Santa will be in the cafeteria - bring a buck, get your friends together and make Abby Christmas memories!  All proceeds will go towards Adopt-A-Family.

Jr. Boys Basketball Update – A reminder we have a home game tonight at 6:30 vs Yale.  Please be in the gym by 6:00pm.

There will be a brief but important meeting for all girls interested in playing rugby on Tuesday, 11:05am in Mr. Clark’s room, C219.

Hey Abby - SANTA JUST CALLED and he can't gert away from the workshop to pose for our pictures today... he promises to be here on Tuesday, to capture you and all your friends in your TACKY CHRISTMAS wear!!!  Photos with Santa will be on Tuesday in the Cafeteria!

Anyone who is wearing a santa hat or antlers today should come on down to the cafeteria for a little Christmas treat!!

SIGN UP AT LUNCH TODAY in the front foyer today to participate in our Human Gift Wrapping contest!  You will be given a bag of materials to design a wrapping paper outfit complete with accessories!  We will be accepting 5 teams of 3-4 people for this challenge.  First come, first served!  There are Great Prizes to be won!!

Are looking for a short term volunteer experience? Good Life fitness is opening in January and needs volunteers for their launch event. See Mr. Grell before Christmas break.

PICTURES WITH SANTA HAVE BEEN POSTPONED TO FRIDAY!!  One dollar gets you a fun holiday photo with your friends and all proceeds will go to the food bank.  Remember to bring your loonie and your smiles to the cafeteria on Friday at lunch.... just wait until you see who Santa is!!!!!

You're a Mean One, Mr. Grinch!  Playing today only in Movie Club is Doctor Suess's, "How The Grinch Stole Christmas."  Movie starts at 11:00, so bring your lunch and come enjoy a great holiday classic.  There will be no movie club on Thursday.

PICTURES WITH SANTA TODAY AND THURSDAY!!  Come down to the cafeteria at lunch to have your photo taken with Santa!  Individual and group shots are available.  A looney for the first photo and 50 cents for each additional print.  Antlers and Santa hats are available to make your photo even more festive.

CANDY GRAMS are still on sale in the front foyer - Thursday is the last day!!!!  Some will be delivered today in B block and the rest will go out on Friday.  Come on down to send that special someone something sweet!  You can even write them a personal message!!

Senior Leadership is CANCELLED for tomorrow morning.  There will be no morning Leadership class on Thursday.  We will see you bright and early next Tuesday!

Grade 10 students going to the Career Fair, please make your way to front foyer now.

The bus for participants going to IB World Music on Friday, December 3 will leave Abbotsford Collegiate at 7:30 AM.  Make sure that you are here by 7:20 AM.

Aboriginal students, there is a Family Gathering and dinner at the Aboriginal Education Centre tonight from 6-8pm.  Come enjoy great food and company.  There is no cost and family and friends are welcome.  See Lindsay in room N113 for more details.

Music Students, please make sure you get all of your Neufeld Chicken orders to Miss H by Thursday.

An important reminder to the 12 girls’ rugby players helping with the shoe check at the dance – you must be in the cafeteria no later than 6:40pm.  Your names will on a list at the door.

There is a very important meeting for ALL student sponsors for Adopt-A-Family in Ms. Janzen's room at the start of lunch!!

Here is your Jr. Boys’ Basketball update for December 2nd – The Jr. Boys charged out of the gate against Robert Bateman Secondary and held on, for a well deserved 46 to 42 win to open their season.  Collegiate’s leading scorer was Ivan Nichols and Coach Fiedler’s defensive player of the game was Edmon Thomas.  Next game is Friday morning at 9:00 am.

The KeyClub is organizing a Wright for Rights Day. ~On December 10, International Human Rights Day, Amnesty supporters in Canada and around the world are going to write~hundreds of thousands of letters~that can save lives. ~We're all going to come down to the Cafeteria on this day, during Blocks C and D and wright our letters~to help prisoners of conscience, human rights defenders under threat, and vulnerable communities facing ongoing abuse of their human rights.~We'll be a part of the~world's~biggest letter-writing event! ~Everyone who participates will receive a free treat!

Cross Country students are asked to meet briefly with Mrs. Webster at lunch today in N115.

Attention to all football players, banquet tickets must be picked up from Coach Fujimura today.  

Hey Abby!!!  Our winter dance is fast approaching!!  It's next Thursday, December 2nd and the theme is: Dreaming of a White Christmas.  Tickets are $10 and will be on sale at lunch next week in the front foyer.  THERE WILL BE ABSOLUTELY NO TICKET SALES AT THE DOOR.  Guest pass applications are available at the office NOW, and must be submitted by THIS Friday for approval.  No applications will be accepted after Friday.

Attention Grads – Our first Grad Friday will take place Friday, November 19th.  Put together your team of 5 grads and come sign-up in the front foyer at lunch, or just come and watch.

All hair show models listen up!  There is a mandatory rehearsal for all the hair show models in the theatre today from 3:15 – 6:00 pm.  That’s all models at 3:15 in the theatre please.

Interested in fire fighting? Serious Grade 11 and 12 students who have a C+ average, good attendance record and are physically fit may pick up an application from Mrs. Doan or Mr. Grell.

A reminder to all leadership students and PE students who are planning to attend the ski trip in February.  Your Ski Trip forms and payment are due by Friday.   This trip is first come/first served as we have a limited number of spaces on the bus.
