Want t be a teen volunteer at the hospital?  Application packages can be picked up from Mr. Burns in the CTC office.  You must be at least 15 years old, committed, have related skills and experience for the area youíll work in and must have all your paperwork in by January 15th.

Thank-you to all the classes that participated in Thursday's door decorating contest.  After much discussion and deliberation, the judges finally arrived at a decision.
Honorable mention goes to the classes of Mr. Devries, Ms. Varnes, and Ms. Caviggia.
Second Place and the ice cream party prize goes to: Mrs. Brar's class.
And First Place and the class pizza party prize goes to Mr. Wansbrough's class.

Congratulations to Karnvir Grewal, one of our Abby Panther wrestlers, who attended a tournament yesterday at SFU in Burnaby.  Against 60 other boys in his weight class, he managed to take home a bronze medal.  We are very proud of his achievements and wish him luck in his next tournament on January 7th.  Way to go, Karnvir!!

Attention Music students ñ sweaters are here, please pick up in the music room.

There is no Saturday School this week and during the holidays.  Saturday School will resume January 9, 2010.

Calling all Rugby players ñ boys and girls, Grade 9 ñ Gr. 12, rookies, veterans!  Important meeting for everyone interested in playing for Abby this year.  Come to the Dance Studio (by the music room) on Tuesday, December 15th at 11:05 am.  Bring your lunch and find out about the upcoming season.

The Y.E.S Club will be selling hot chocolate tomorrow morning in the cafeteria, for a $1.00 a cup.  Help save the work and enjoy a delicious hot cup of chocolate.

A tip of the hat goes out to Alex Mitchell from our school is attending the climate change conference in Copenhagen. Yesterday she interviewed Premier Gordon Campbell who also attending. There will be a yearbook class after school today to get ready for the first deadline. Class will not be long but you need to check in with Mr. Whitman during the day or after school to get your assignments or check their progress.

Yearbook order are still be taken - order and pay now and save $10 or up to  $20 for a grade 12 deluxe edition. See the school's web site for more information.

Attention Drumline and Jazz Band - reminder of our performance on Wednesday afternoon.  Please meet in the music room at 12:00 so that we can load up all of our gear.

Attention Grade 9 students and Link Leaders from Mrs Mackenzie, Mr Biring, Mrs Middleton and Mrs MJ's homerooms - Your Cookies and Cocoa LINK crew event will take place immediately after these announcements in the cafeteria.  LINK leaders please go and pick up your grade 9 crew and their decorations and bring them to the cafeteria.
A reminder to the Grade 9 students in Mr Abraham, Mr Keeley, Mrs Cumiskey, Ms Hardless and Ms Hasiuk's homerooms - Your Cookies and Cocoa event will take place tomorrow during Block B.  Don't forget your decorations!!

Santa Golf  today in the cafeteria.  Golf with a candy cane and possibly win an iPod or one of the other amazing prizes.

There will be a brief 5 minute meeting for all students who auditioned for this yearís play in the Green Room today at 11:00 am.

Attention all Football Players.  The football banquet is on December 14th at 6:00 pm at the Abby Arts Center.  Purchase your tickets at the office by Friday so we can know the numbers for dinner.

Girls Cheer Team meeting at 2:45 today in the Dance Room.  All members must attend this very important meeting.

Dance tickets are on sale today at lunch in the foyer.  The dance is on Thursday, Oct. 10.  There will be no ticket sales at the door.  You must produce your student ID to get in.

The Key Club is holding the annual ìLight up a Lifeî fundraiser.  Come down to the foyer at lunch and buy a paper light bulb for a dollar to raise money for our local Food Bank.

Yearbook pre-orders are still happening. Order a yearbook now and save $10 and ... guarantee you get one this spring. Grade 12's you deluxe yearbook option with personalize name, prom and convocation salient, and baby grad picture is available for $60. Yearbook must be paid for by Jan 20th. Grade 12 deluxe additions are NOT available after Jan 20th - don't procrastinate - see Kal in the Office to order yours now.

Today at lunch in Portable~#3, there will be a Abbotsford Collegiate Prayer Group.~
Portable 3 is located at the back of the school behind the Gym. Everyone is welcome to come on out! Please bring your lunch.

Food Safe Certificates have arrived.  Please see Mrs. Triebwasser.

Today's the day Grads! It's Grad Transitions Party day! Bring a friend and your booklet to the cafeteria after school. Santa isn't going to do it for you!

Today at lunch is the annual Christmas Karaoke contest in the cafeteria.  Bring out a partner and see if you can out sing the competition for prizes.

Dance tickets will be on sale at lunch in the foyer everyday up until next Thursday.  Any students who would like to bring a guest from another school, you must fill out a guest request form and have it returned by after school today.  Guest request forms can be picked up from the ticket sellers.

Anyone interested in intramural volleyball, please see Mr. Lenz or Mr. Fujimura to sign up your team.

If you like singing but feel you are not choir material then this club is for you.  We will be meeting this Monday afterschool in the music room.  Sorry we had to change the day due to Pro-D on Friday.  Everyone welcome.
PajamaPalooza will take place on Thursday, Nov 26 from 7 - 9pm in the cafeteria.  Grade 9 students plan to attend this FREE event.  Don't forget to bring your ticket, your student ID card and wear your PJs.  Come enjoy a movie and popcorn with the LINK Crew Leaders.

Today at lunch come to the cafeteria and eat some delicious pizza.  All proceeds go towards helping open economic opportunities internationally.  Sponsored by YES.  Eat pizza save the world.
The 7 gentlemen who’ve applied to the Junior Fire Academy are reminded to report to the counseling center at 1:30 today in order to write 2 tests.

Grade 12 students applying to UVic have until February 28th to apply. If you apply before November 30th then self report Grade 11 grades over 80%, you will receive an early conditional admission offer for every faculty except Business.  See Mrs. Doan for help with applying.
